On the night between Saturday, February 4, and Sunday, February 5, 1933, in the hamlet of Sant\u2019Antonio di Tortal (Borgo Valbelluna \u2013 Belluno \u2013 Italy), the young Emma Canton from Confos was brutally murdered by her peer Abele De Barba, with whom she had been in a romantic relationship. The story, reconstructed through the trial records preserved in the State Archives of Venice, is documented in the book Omicidio di Emma Canton by Roberto De Nart, a journalist from Belluno.
